Learn about settings and factors that could affect your sublimation.
Multiple factors can give different outputs when sublimating ChromaLuxe panels. Sublimation times and temperatures can vary depending on room conditions like humidity, temperature, and altitude. The brand of a heat press and sublimation printer is also important in the sublimation process.
HEAT: Heat must be distributed equally over the aluminum heating plate of your heat press.
PRESSURE: Pressure must be distributed equally over the aluminum panel. This pressure needs to be adjustable and measurable. Your heat press must have an indicator of how many PSI (or bar) you use.
TIME: Your time must be set correctly to have optimum output.
HUMIDITY: The humidity in your room must be between 40% and 60% (50% is optimum).
TEMPERATURE: The temperature in your room must be between 65°F and 85°F or 20°C and 30°C.
ALTITUDE: All settings are made based on sea level. If you are in a higher altitude area, the sublimation process will go faster and you may need to lower the time.
